One of the best walking tours I have had the pleasure to experience. Terrie is an amazing guide who shares so much relevant and interesting history & stories of Roanoke as we walk around and see the sights. The food was top notch starting with the first course and continuing all throughout! Would highly recommend and a big thanks to Terrie for doing such a fantastic job of leading this tour. It is so very well put together.

Our first experience with Shaken or Stirred was fabulous! It was such a fun experience not to mention fantastic drinks! A well-organized event by both Larry and Hunter. Enjoyed the history of the drinks too. We are already planning our next Shaken or Stirred day. Highly recommend!

We had a private tour for a group of 16 on a Friday and it was terrific. Our guide, Terrie, was an excellent guide and a great storyteller. Learning about a place through the food there helped create a contextual history of Roanoke, as each establishment had a story behind the architecture of the building, the owners, the food, and its relation to the city. The food was fantastic, and we sampled a variety of local dishes from six different restaurants. This is my second time taking this tour and I would absolutely recommend it as a fun introduction to Roanoke!

What an incredible way to really visit an area! Our guide, Lynne, was a great storyteller and has a tremendous wealth of knowledge when it comes to the history of Roanoke. AND the food complimented the entire experience! I recommend visitors and residents alike to participate in Tour Roanoke's unique experience that will bring you back in time when "Big Lick" was a small town that has grown to be now Roanoke, the 8th largest city in Virginia.

We experienced their classic Food & cultural tour, which seemed to lack the balance and preparedness I’ve experienced on other similar tours. We waited longer than seemed necessary at multiple food stops and we just finishing our 3rd of 7 stops at the end of hour 2. I think this decreased the energy of the group. We also finished the tour about 45 minutes late, which isn’t ideal when you are trying to explore the city. Our last stop was chocolatepaper would have been a wonderful shop to explore after the final dessert, but we were hurried along to see views at a final building in which the roof was closed for an event. Small touches like having the restaurant owners or chef introduce the food or having menus to browse without having to ask were missed.
The tour guide was rich in her knowledge of the city and we thoroughly enjoyed the stop at the art museum. You also get some coupons in your pamphlet, which were a nice touch.
Overall the lack of balance between food and culture, seeming lack of preparedness from the restaurants, and extended time spent on the tour decreased our enjoyment.

We enjoyed a "staycation" in our hometown of Roanoke and the Food Tour was a highlight. Food was a huge part of the tour but a pleasant surprise for us was the sharing of Roanoke's colorful history and diverse cultures presented in the many stories of the different areas, dining establishments, local stores, and Taubman Museum we visited. The quick three hours we spent enjoying delicious food, casual conversation, lovely weather, and walking the streets of our beautiful city were exactly what we had hoped the tour would provide to our staycation. Our very knowledgeable tour guide, Lynne, was wonderful.

Roanoke food & culture tour on a beautiful Saturday was just super. Terrie, our guide, was very informative, giving us both the story of this interesting city and the behind the scenes look at some of the local restaurants. We stopped by or went past several shops that merited a return trip on our own later in the afternoon. Although there was a bit of walking, the pace was relaxed and the distances between each stop were short. We certainly got enough food to make it our primary meal for the day. We had lots of fun.

We've done food tours in many cities, this may have been the best one yet. Ned is so passionate and knowledgeable about his city, and he makes it fun to learn so much about both the food scene and the history of this town. So glad we started our visit with this excellent tour - and the food was great!
