Without hesitation I can very enthusiastically recommend Alum Evans for his tours around Munich! We were very impressed with this tour for many, many reasons. First and foremost, Alun is an extremely well informed guide, making this an incredibly educational experience (we did Dachau and the Third Reich tours). But the value goes beyond that. Alun is very organized, seamlessly leading the group through multiple changes of trains/buses to smoothly travel to and from Dachau. So one never has to worry. Also, Alun has a very high level of engagement from a communication perspective. I noticed him very intentionally look around the group making everyone seem included and important to the tour. That’s a great skill. I’ve traveled extensively and toured in most places, and Alun is right there at the top of the list of tour guides. This is a very valuable use of your travel dollars.

Our tour was to the Dachau Concentration Camp and Memorial Site. We met Alun and the rest of the group at Marienplatz square in Munich and caught the train and local bus to the site. Tickets were provided and Alun was extremely punctual and professional for the entire tour. His knowledge is profound and it is evident that he is enthusiastic and loves his job. Any questions were answered and there was free time to explore and to personally reflect at Dachau. This was an experience I will never forget and I wish to thank Alun for his high level of expertise and welcoming nature. Alun is amazing, best tour guide ive ever had honestly. My party went on 3 tours during our trip to munich this year (2023) and we went to Dachau with alun first and all the subsequent tours all we could think was damn I wish alun was doing this tour...anyway. he's very personable, friendly, highly organized, very articulate and definitely knows his information. I can't recommend him enough, if we'd had more time in Munich I would've loved to do one of his other tours.

Alun was so professional and informative on our tour to Dachau. I was signed up for a group tour but the other group had to cancel and Alun still took me so I got a private tour experience! Going to a place like a concentration camp is a very somber experience and is very difficult to wrap one’s head around all that happened, but Alun did a remarkable job explaining everything and showing things that should I had visited on my own, I would have missed. Alun knows the details of Dachau so well and really takes the time to explain things thoroughly and was open to questions. I was so impressed with his tour and especially him as a tour guide! If you are visiting Munich, you MUST take a tour with Alun!

I had the great pleasure of booking two tours with Alun in the spring of 2019. I went on the Dachau tour and Third Reich tour, both were small group tours. Alun, is a fantastic leader! Right from the meeting place he is easy to find and makes sure everyone can find him and we are all in one place, which is nice when you are alone (as I am a solo traveler) and don't want to be separated from a group! His knowledge of both Munich and surrounding areas was enjoyable, he was able to give traveler tips nearby restaurant ideas at the end of the tour. His concern for the safety of all of us on the train to Dachau and again, keeping us all together was very nice. His compassion and knowledge of Dachau was very telling, he truly loves what he is doing. I would not hesitate to book another trip with him and highly recommend!

An amazing experience all around. I took two tours with Alun during my time in Munich. I took a group tour to Dachau, and met Alun with the rest of the group at the Visitors Centre. He lead us through public transportation to our destination. He then gave us a great tour and gave everyone personal time for lunch. He is a wealth of knowledge who answers any type of question you would have.

I also took the Third Reich tour with Alun later that day. We walked around the city while Alun showed us images, and gave excellent historical background to the city. I suggest taking this tour early in your trip so you may get knowledge of the city's landmarks.
