Bisher hatte ich Meer Otter immer nur mal sporadisch gesehen und sie standen schon lange auf meiner Foto Wunschliste. Ich habe in Vorbereitung auf meine Tour die Angebote der bekannten Tour Anbieter verglichen und mich für Sea Otter Eco Tour entschieden. Hier erschien mir der Fokus auf die Meer Otter am besten umgesetzt. Ich habe dann direkt bei Ron gebucht. Dies lief sehr unkompliziert und vertrauensvoll. Am nächsten Tag begann die Tour morgens um 10 Uhr mit dem Tour Guide und Bootsführer Gord. Die Tour kann man insgesamt als sehr gut zusammen fassen ich habe weit mehr als 50 Meer Otter gesehen. Und Gord ist auf alle Wünsche direkt eingegangen um die beste Sicht und das beste Licht für die Beobachtung zu haben. Auch erzählte er noch viele interessante Details zur Umgebung. Auch für gute Verpflegung und Getränke war auf der 6 Stunden Tour gesorgt. Nach 6 Stunden Tour ging es dann wieder zurück in den Hafen. Als ich dann noch erfahren habe das sich am nächsten Tag noch kurzfristig eine Tour ergeben hatte, habe ich diese auch gleich noch einmal mit gemacht. In preparation for my tour, I compared the offers of the well-known tour providers and decided on Sea Otter Eco Tour. Here the focus on the sea otters seemed to be implemented best. I then booked directly with Ron. This was very uncomplicated and trustworthy. The next day the tour started at 10am with the tour guide and boatman Gord. The tour can be summarized as very good overall I saw well over 50 sea otters. And Gord responded to all requests directly to have the best view and the best light for observation. He also told many interesting details about the area. Good food and drinks were also provided on the 6 hour tour. After 6 hours of tour we went back to the port. Dream come true! This was the absolute best experience ever. Meghan and Ron are excellent hosts with a beautiful home. Very lovely people. Ron was an amazing tour guide. Not only does he know where to go to find the sea otters he also knows so much about the area and the history. We got some bonus wildlife with sea lions and a glimpse of a humpback! The scenery in Port Alice is absolutely stunning and was an excellent break from city life. 10/10 recommend, I’ll be back one day!

I was fortunate to be able to go on a Sea Otter Eco Tour with "Captain" Ron (50+ otters) and a salmon fishing tour with Sea Otter Eco Tours (caught my limit). Ron is the quintessential tour guide, seamlessly giving us the history of the area together the current happenings in the area. Also, there is no better spotter for game than Ron who can see eagles or bears on shore long before anyone else can. Together with his wife Meghan (a wonderful host in her own right) Sea Otter Eco Tours provides an excellent stay and experience.

It has been my dream to see sea otters in the wild so 4 of us stayed here for 3 nights and did a sea otter tour for my bday. The accommodations were really nice (we stayed downstairs, ocean view queen I believe) and had beautiful patio with fire pit overlooking the ocean. We would sit each night and have a drink and soak it all in. Our host Ron was extremely accommodating and always went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and comfortable. Shane one of the fishing guides was so knowledgeable and answered a million questions and even took us out to collect crab traps for fun (and dinner). Speaking of dinner the food prepared by Steve was amazing and filling. They even prepared a special seafood dinner for my bday. Of course the sea otters were incredible and the reason that we came but honestly the reason I will go back is for the people. I felt like I was staying with family. Book with these fine folks, I promise you will have the trip of a lifetime. ?

Seeing sea otters in the wild has been a bucket list activity for me, and the trip did not disappoint - there were plenty of the chaps to see as well as seals and bald eagles. The snacks on board were appreciated, and the final highlight was a humpback whale that Shane spotted and allowed us time to observe.

We took the Sea Otter Eco tour last year and had such a great time that we decided to go again and were not disappointed. With Shane as our guide we enjoyed a bit of local history with many opportunities to photograph the otters at a respectful distance. We hope to be able to come back again next year!!

If you have been considering embarking on a Sea Otter Eco Tour, do it! The whole experience, from checking in at the beautiful B&B with a STUNNING view, to the voyage throughout the waters where you are guaranteed to see otters (and likely sea lions and whales, too), was outstanding. We would do it again in a heartbeat. Ron & Meghan are great hosts - unbelievably accommodating and knowledgeable about the area. Highly, highly, highly recommend!
